Iain Sterling revealed that the Love Island finale after-party was pretty underwhelming

Most of the Islanders just wanted to get back on their phones.

MOST PEOPLE WOULD probably imagine that once Love Island wrapped up, all of the young, attractive contestants would be ready to get involved in some serious celebrations.

After all, they had been separated from their family and friends for eight whole weeks. They missed the entire World Cup and all of the good weather back home. There’s so much to catch up on.

However, according to Love Island voiceover Iain Sterling, things were pretty tame. Most of the contestants were more excited to be reunited with their phones.

They got their phones back in a plastic pouch like they’ve just come out of prison, and they fire their phones up – you can imagine, eight weeks, some of them have gone from no followers on social media, to like a million – think of your Whatsapp groups if you leave your phone for like five minutes.
I was just watching these kids trying to get their head ’round the fact the world was on their phone.

Although they were glued to their phones, Iain said that the Islanders were lovely and made a real effort with everyone who wanted a photo. Sterling couldn’t blame them if they wanted to go on their phones, either way.

If I had just gotten my phone back and had a million followers, I wouldn’t speak to anyone. I’d be like “Seeya later, losers! I’m off to do some teeth whitening ads.”

The after-party itself was fairly civilised.

Everyone was walking around with headphones on (except for Iain, he was sick of them after standing in the recording booth for the last eight weeks).

Long story short, the after-party was at a bar that we drink in every night and it had to be a silent disco because we weren’t allowed to be loud after 1 o’clock.
